Modeling Human Ecodynamics in
Mid-Holocene Northern Peru

Debates continue regarding the environmental, economic, and social factors accounting for early Andean civilization. Interdisciplinary data for early crop production, irrigation technology, and landscapes of settlement aggregation in northern Peru are discussed for the mid-Holocene period. Several paradigmatic options are evaluated to understand the data and the importance of early agriculture in the study area.
