Biological Anthropology Resources
The Anthropology Department is home to the GIS/LUECI (Land Use and Environmental Change Institute) laboratory on campus, providing an extensive database of geographic and environmental information. The larger academic setting of the University of Florida offers students a wealth of resources to draw from while pursuing graduate study. The Libraries of UF are comprehensive with extensive holdings in earth and life sciences.
The Florida Museum of Natural History is located on the UF campus and the newly dedicated William R. Maples Center for Forensic Medicine provides opportunity for interdisciplinary work in forensic sciences. Anthropology faculty and graduate students have ties with researchers a number of programs, institutes and departments within the university (e.g., Zoology, Geology, Physics, Exercise and Sports Sciences, Radiology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Women's Studies, Astronomy, Aerospace Engineering and Plant and Soil Sciences). The Anthropology Department is perhaps best known for its international ties, with field projects and institutional collaborations which truly span the globe.
